What
Tubeless is a combination of rim and tire, but without tube.
Why
- Better performace characteristics : enhanced traction, less rolling resistance (up to 15%), no snake-bites
- Less rotating weight : lighter than regular tyre and normal inner tube combination
- Lower pressure
- Easy to fit
- With adition of sealant, self- sealing : no more puncture flats.
Tubeless conversion kits
With tubeless conversion kits, every conventional double wall rim can be converted to a tubeless system. Requires very little mechanical ability to install.
Sealant
By adding a latex based sealant like Eclipse or NoZisch, the result is a self- repairing tubeless system. These sealants permanently close holes up to 2mm.
Tires to be used
- Tubeless ready tires are the future, combining the advantages of the UST Tubeless tire and the folding tire, offering light weight and maximum safety! Look for the Specialized 2Bliss, Contintenal Racesport, Schwalbe Pacestar, Hutchinson's Tubeless Ready and Geax TNT logo's.
- Standard folding tires and a tubelesskit, used by racers in order to save every gram of weight. While this works well, we have to decline any liability for this combination, due to production tolerances of tire manufacturers.
- UST tubeless tires can be used, but these tires are heavier than standard folding tires.
